Who Should We Know? Awards + Scholarships Are Open

For Colorado athletic directors, coaches & school leaders

As we move into another school year, I’m reaching out to our high school athletic directors, coaches and school leaders across Colorado with two opportunities we hope you’ll share with your school community.

Opportunity 1: Sportswomen of Colorado Award Nominations Are Open

For more than 50 years, Sportswomen of Colorado has recognized and celebrated outstanding Colorado girls and women in sport, and we need your help identifying who should be honored next.

We are accepting nominations recognizing achievements and contributions to sport during the 2026 calendar year, January 1 through December 31.

Please think about the people within your school and community who deserve to be on our radar:

  • Outstanding female student-athletes
  • Teams that have accomplished something special
  • Coaches making an impact on and off the field
  • Your school’s alumni who are now competing collegiately, professionally or internationally
  • Trailblazers, leaders and longtime contributors to girls’ and women’s sports

You may submit as many deserving nominations as you’d like.

★ Save the Date ★
Nominations are open through December 31, 2026, and our honorees will be recognized at the 53rd Annual Sportswomen of Colorado Awards Celebration on Sunday, February 28, 2027, at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center.

Opportunity 2: Introducing Our Sportswomen of Colorado Scholarship

We are also excited to share a scholarship opportunity for Colorado female high school seniors graduating in 2027.

Our goal is to recognize a young woman who reflects what Sportswomen of Colorado has championed for more than five decades: participation in sport, leadership, perseverance and the positive impact athletics can have far beyond competition.

One award of $2,000 will be presented. Applications close January 15, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time.

Please help us reach students who might otherwise miss this opportunity by sharing it with your counseling office, coaching staff, families and eligible student-athletes.

Help us find the girls and women we should know.

Some of the most deserving people we recognize each year come to us because one coach, teacher, administrator, teammate or community member took a few minutes to tell us their story.

Thank you for helping us continue our mission of promoting, honoring and empowering Colorado girls and women in sport.

Warmly,
Jen Anderson-Ehrlich
