Summer Camp

Sportswomen of Colorado is committed to promoting educational opportunities for girls in sports. The Girls Camp program was launched in 2001 thanks to seed money donated by the Pepsi Bottling Group of Denver. Summer sports camp scholarship opportunities have been awarded to girls residing in Colorado who are at least 9 years of age through 13 years of age. In the program’s inaugural year, 22 girls enjoyed the opportunity to attend a summer sports camp. Over the years the Sportswomen of Colorado Camp Scholarship Program has sent over 850 young female athletes to the sports camp of their choice.

In 2001, Helen M. McLoraine made a pace setting endowment gift of $100,000 to support the Girls Camp Scholarship Program. As a result of this gift, the program continues to enjoy a strong financial base annually. Additional funding is supported through generous donations by individuals and corporate sponsors.
