She runs for the University of Colorado Boulder (CU). And, she’s fast. On the track or over the cross country course, Sage Hurta is the latest in a long line of CU Buffaloes to set the pace.
She’d redshirted for both an indoor and outdoor season before her senior season, then wrapped up her career in impressive, and speedy, fashion. She even took down a Buffs school record held by the legendary Jenny Barringer Simpson when she ran the fastest 800 meter time in school history.
Sage also ran the Buffs’ fourth fastest 1500 meter time. And, when she did it, it was the season’s second-fastest women’s time in the world.
In cross country, Sage Hurta led her CU teammates to the finish line in every single race as the Buffs’ top finisher every time she ran. She was just the second female runner in school history to earn All-America status.
