  • Pitched Win in First Prep Championship
  • Ended Eaton’s 22-Year State Tournament Losing Streak

Freshman Sadie Ross is a power-force to be reckoned with on the softball field. When she and her Eaton High School team won the 2020 softball state championship, they ended a 22-year-old losing streak. Although Sadie’s just a ninth grader, she plays as though she’s a much older player with years of experience. The 2020 tournament was the first of her prep career and she dominated the pitchers mound. In the effort, she struck out a total of 12 players. Including six in a row! Her performance helped her team take down Lutheran 5-1.

Sadie knew how big this moment was, not only for her team but for her school. Her older sister Remington Ross, a past Sportswomen of Colorado honoree, was also a softball star at Eaton and Sadie had watched over the years as her big sister’s teams tried to win the championship but kept coming up short. If you ask Sadie Ross now, our softball award may take a back seat to her family bragging rights!
