Out next honoree is 3A high school track & field superstar Peyton Garrison. When Peyton graduated this past spring from Coal Creek High School, located just east of Glenwood Springs, she left quite the legacy.
In 2022, at her final state meet, Peyton swept the sprints… for the second year in a row! The speedy Titan won the 100 meters. She won the 200. She won the 400.
Even more impressive, she set the 3A state record in the 400 meters, finishing in an outstanding time of 54.71 seconds! And, to top off her perfect day, Peyton also anchored the state championship 800 meter sprint medley relay for her Titans team.
For all her dominating efforts, Peyton Garrison was named the Western Slope League Track & Field Female Athlete of the Year… and, now she receives our Sportswomen award in small school track & field. Congratulations, Peyton!
