You’re never too old to chase your dreams and make your wildest ones come true. That’s the lesson that Mariah Bell taught us in 2022, as the 25 year old became the oldest woman to win a national title and make the US Olympic figure skating team in nearly a century.
More than a decade into her training, Bell had her best year to date, skating in Beijing and earning 10th place in the singles skate.
The Ralston Valley High School graduate announced in October that she was retiring from competitive figure skating… but we all rejoiced when she took on hosting duties at the 2023 US Figure Skating Championships.
