Coloradans know Steamboat Springs as a great place to ski and mountain bike. However, the running community there is also very strong. Just ask Maggi Congdon who grew up there before taking her talents to Northern Arizona University. In the 2025 season, Maggi became an NCAA First Team All-American in both the mile and the 1500 meters, finishing third at the NCAA Indoor Championships and third again at the outdoor NCAA Championships. She dominated the Big Sky Conference, winning conference titles in all four of her allowed events – the mile, 800 meters, 4×400 relay, and distance medley relay which earned her the Big Sky Most Valuable Athlete. Her performances are historic: she set a school record, Big Sky record, and Number 8 all-time NCAA mark in the 1500 meters running a 4:05, and she was a member of the third fastest Distance Medley Relay in NCAA history.
