Lorne Donaldson has been a centerpiece in the soccer world for decades. From being a Hall of Famer at Metropolitan State College to playing for the Jamaican men’s national team to coaching the Colorado Foxes in the APSL and assisting the MLS Colorado Rapids, Lorne’s has made significant contributions everywhere he’s been. Donaldson’s tenure with Real Colorado produced some of the top names in today’s game. Sophie Smith, Mallory Swanson (Pugh), Ethan Horvath, Janine Beckie, and Tajon Buchanan are just some of the players Lorne developed. More recently, Donaldson made a significant mark on the international stage by leading the Jamaican Women’s Soccer Team in their World Cup campaign to the Final 16. Lorne’s incredible success and leadership at various levels of soccer, from youth to professional and international stages, culminated in his appointment as the Head Coach of the NWSL Red Stars and this year’s Sportswomen of Colorado award recipient for his Contribution to Sport.
