Lisa Long

Year: 2019
Award: Soccer, High School
Location/Affiliation: Cheyenne Mountain High School

  • Colorado Springs Gazette Soccer Player of the Year
  • 32 Career Goals

Saying Cheyenne Mountain High School senior Lisa Long was the heart and soul of her Colorado Springs soccer team is high praise. And, maybe even an understatement! Lisa ended her career with 32 goals, but the sixteen in her final season were game-changers.

Lisa led Cheyenne Mountain to an improbable championship finish. They entered the 4A soccer state playoffs as the #21 seed and faced a daunting tournament schedule. By the time it was over, and Cheyenne Mountain was raising the championship trophy, they’d upset #12, #8, #5, #4, and #3! Lisa scored seven of the team’s 10 goals on the championship run, including two goals in the title game.

For her incredible performance, Lisa Long was named the Gazette Preps 2019 Girls’ Soccer Peak Performer of the Year and the CHSAA 4A Player of the Year.

Beyond the soccer field, Lisa is a peak performer in the classroom, too. She has a perfect 4.0 GPA and is in the top 15% of her class.
