2020 was Lindsey Immel’s junior season at Rampart High School in Colorado Springs. And, it was an impressive one! Lindsey added three more gold medals to her already prestigious collection. She won the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.53 seconds, and the 100 freestyle in just 50.32.
She also swam in the 200 medley relay, which is a team specialty. Lindsey led the Rams to their third straight 4A title in the event. They won with a fast time of 1:44.04 which was close to the state record they’d set the year before. By the time they’d splashed to the finish, Lindsey had been named 4A Swimmer of the Year.
Overall, Lindsey’s collected an impressive 12 state medals in just three years, including seven gold and three silver. Additionally, she’s a state record-holder and has helped her Rams to the top of the team standings. They’d won back-to-back titles before finishing state runner-up in 2020.
Next up for Lindsey Immel, a college career in the Atlantic Coach Conference (ACC). She plans to continue her education and swim at North Carolina State.
