Field hockey player Katharine Merrifield had an incredible year in 2019. Not only did her Colorado Academy Mustangs team win the state high school field hockey championship, the title wrapped up a perfect season, and Katharine was named CHSAA/Max Preps First-Team All-State.

She helped the Mustangs finish an outstanding 18-0 on the season. She led the state in points, with 59. And, her 25 goals was also the best in Colorado preps.

That goal total is especially significant. 25 are the most scored by a Colorado field hockey player in the last ten years!

But as talented as Katharine Merrifield is in field hockey, she’s leaving it behind when she moves on to college. Katharine is heading east with her lacrosse stick instead. She’s already committed to play lacrosse for the University of Michigan.
