As the 2022 Sportswoman of the Year, Kupcho joins a prestigious group of female athletes who have been honored for their contributions to sports in Colorado. Those past honorees include Dorothy Hamill, Gigi Fernandez, Tanya Haave, Amy Van Dyken, Missy Franklin, Mikayla Shiffrin, and just last year Olympic Discus Gold medalist Valarie Allman. This award is a testament to Kupcho’s talent and dedication, and she is sure to continue making her mark on the LPGA tour and beyond.

Jennifer won her first Sportswoman of Colorado award as a high school golfer in 2013 and then entered the Hall of Fame in 2016 when she won her third award. As a collegiate golfer, she was the NCAA National Champion while playing at Wake Forest University and won the Honda Sports Award for golf.  As a professional, 2022 was a breakout season for Jennifer.  In just her fourth season competing on the LPGA Tour, the 25-year-old won three tournaments and won her first major at The Chevron Championship.

Kupcho finished 2022 ranked #6 in the world and as the first American in the Race to CME Globe standings. She has brought attention to the sport of golf and inspired young women to pursue their passion for the game. She has become a role model for aspiring golfers and has done so while also giving back to the community. Kupcho has been recognized for her charitable efforts, including supporting organizations ‘Birdies for Meals’ Campaign and ‘Simply Give’.

During Kupcho’s acceptance speech, she talked about the word that best describes her career and how she plays the game, and she said “resilient”.  Jennifer will forever be etched in greatness as she joins a special group of women as the 2022 Sportswoman of the Year.
