For any high school athlete, winning a State Championship as a freshman is a phenomenal way to start a career. But, Erie High School’s Hadley Ashton went a little farther than that. Not only did she win the 4A state championship as a 14-year-old freshman, leading Erie to its first-ever team championship, competing against girls who were much older and more experienced, she was also named Colorado’s 4A Girls Golfer of the Year.
And her success didn’t stop in high school golf. She also won the Hale Irwin AJGA Colorado Junior with 10 birdies on the week. Hadley went on to compete in the U.S. Girls Junior, the Women’s USGA, and the U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball. She also earned the Future Famer award from Colorado Golf Hall of Fame and was selected to the American Junior Golf Association 12-15 year old All-Star Team. Hadley Ashton is this year’s High School Golfer of the Year.
