Frances Cable

Year: 2019
Award: Diving, High School

  • 2018 & 2019 5A Diving State Champion
  • 2-time Diver of the Year

For diver Frances “Franny” Cable, back-to-back is twice as nice. Competing for Arapahoe High School in Littleton, Franny finished her prep career winning the 2018 and 2019 state titles, she was a two-time High School All-American, and repeated as the Centennial League diving champion.

She also goes down in the Arapahoe High School and Centennial League record books, setting new pool and league records. How hard is that to do? The previous marks had stood for more than 20 years.

Her Arapahoe coach, Jeff Smith, said, “Franny always had absolute focus when diving, and I often thought she must have ice water running through her veins.”

The next challenge for Franny Cable is college diving. She’s taken that icy focus and her incredible talent to Lawrence, Kansas, where she’s now competing for the University of Kansas.
