After a 26-year-long career as US Women’s National team director, Carol Callan has retired. But what a career it has been. Callan has guided the program to 7 Olympic gold medals, including the 2020/2021 Tokyo games, 5 of the past 6 FIBA World Cup golds, and an international record of 118-1. Callan was a part of the 1995-1996 USA Basketball team that went 52-0. It was also in 1996 that Callan assisted with the team that would start a 7 consecutive gold medal run at the Olympics. Even though Callan is no longer a part of the USA Women’s Basketball, she still is president of FIBA Americas.
