Allie McLaughlin

Year: 2022
Award: Mountain Running
Location/Affiliation: Professional

  • Mountain Ultra Trail Runner of the Year
  • Gold Medal in Vertical Mountain Running Championships
  • Set course record at the Mount Marathon Race

We’re excited to welcome this honoree back to our stage for the first time since 2009. Back then, Allie McLaughlin was a dominating state cross country champion at Air Academy High School. She went on to excel at CU. And, now, running up and down mountains, all over the world, Allie ranks among the very best mountain runners on the planet.

Her results were so impressive in 2022 that USA Track and Field named her Mountain Ultra Trail Runner of the Year. Allie capped off her season in November when she won gold in the inaugural Vertical Mountain Running Championships in Thailand and led Team USA to the team title!

Then, two days later, when she took bronze in the classic mountain distance… Team USA won bronze, too. In July, Allie set a course record at the treacherous Mount Marathon Race in Alaska. She won two of the Golden Trail Series final events in Madeira, Portugal. Not a bad year! Allie McLaughlin, we’re glad to have you back… our honoree in mountain running!
