Our next honoree is no stranger to winning awards for Sportswomen of Colorado. In fact, this award is her third which places her in our coveted Hall of Fame. Addison Ritzenhein has running in her blood, both of her parents are accomplished runners, and Niwot H.S. has become the mecca for producing some of the best distance runners…in the world. And Addison? She’s now one of the most decorated high school athletes in Colorado history. For the third year in a row, she claimed the state championship in cross country with a time of: 17 minutes and 8 seconds and was named Gatorade Colorado Girls Cross Country Player of the Year. She also excels on the track, where she defended her 1,600-meter state title, and for the third time, won the 3,200 meters. Addison Ritzenhein truly sets the pace and is our honoree in High School Cross Country.
